Vasectomy - What is it?

A vasectomy is a procedure in which both vas deferens are cut or ligated. As a result, the sperm does not enter the sperm and the man becomes infertile. Sperm are still produced, but instead of going into the sperm, they end up in the epididymis, from where the body absorbs them spontaneously.

How do you prepare for a vasectomy? About two weeks before it, you need to have basic laboratory tests recommended by your doctor. And for a few days after the procedure, refrain from sexual intercourse, masturbation and physical exercise.

The treatment lasts 20-30 minutes

Vasectomy is performed under local anaesthetic

*Vasectomy is permanent and irreversible. There is a procedure to reverse it - a revasectomy, but this is not always effective and does not guarantee that the man will regain his fertility. The more time that has elapsed since the vasectomy, the less chance there is of a successful revasectomy.

Vasectomy - is it worth it?

A vasectomy as a method of contraception is safe, comfortable, permanent, 99.9% reliable and, done once, allows you to enjoy sexual activity for the rest of your life without the risk of impregnating your partner.

In addition, it does not affect the quality of sex, the ability to achieve an erection or orgasm, and it takes just half an hour to perform. With the advantages, it is also worth pointing out that the procedure is simple and minimally invasive, so both the preparation for it and the recovery period are short and trouble-free.

So if we are to judge whether it is worth opting for a vasectomy - in the knowledge of its irreversibility, it is definitely worth it.
